Democrats are trying to sneak the “Public Option” into the Healthcare Reform bill through H.R. 1586. We need to let them know we’re “on to” their sneaky maneuvers!

Senate Republicans do have a “way out” that just might kill this Healthcare Reform once and for all. “Rule 4!”

The Senate Finance Committee has it’s own Rules of Procedures. Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure for the Senate Finance Committee reads: “Rule 4. Quorums. – (a) Except as provided in subsection (b) one-third of the membership of the committee, including not less than one member of the majority party and one member of the minority party, shall constitute a quorum for the conduct of business.” That means, at least one Republican Senator on the Finance Committee needs to be in attendance in order to pass any legislation out of committee.

We must keep the pressure up on Senators–just as we did during recess!

WALK OUT NOW under Rule 4!

The democrats are trying to pull a fast one by rolling up all three senate bills which include the public option into H.R. 1586 which is completely unrelated having to do with applying a 90% tax on TARP recipient bonuses.

They’re trying to get this through and scare any Congressmen that’s caught on to be too scared to vote against it so they can smear them as helping TARP recipients.

Don’t fall for this, this country gives the current Congress a 26% approval rating for this sort of thing and will see realize what they’ve tried to do.

You can stop all this by invoking Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure for the Senate Finance Committee reads: “Rule 4. WALK OUT NOW and explain to this country what was going to be attempted under their very noses.

* Yes – tort reform and lowering costs for the medical field.
* Yes – to portability and extending insurance markets.
* Yes – controlling and getting rid of current fraud.

Sending a letter by snail mail is much more effective than by email.

Even if your Senator or Congressman is a liberal Democrat or a Republican, write then anyway. It can influence the atmosphere in Washington. Senators and Congressmen talk and the more mail they get, the more public opinion weighs on them all. Even the ultra-liberals.

Physicians Are Talking About: The Million Med March on Washington

“I’m tired, mad as hell, and just not going to take it anymore,” says Richard Chudacoff, MD, a gynecologist from Las Vegas. “I am going to Washington, DC. At noon, on Thursday, October 1, 2009, I will be on the Mall with a few other physicians.”

Dr. Chudacoff is not talking about vacation plans. Rather, he intends to unite with other physicians in what he calls the Million Med March.

“We simply decided that we will not work that day and perhaps the day before and maybe even the day afterward,” says Dr. Chudacoff. “Perhaps we will show the country that physicians are worth more than a $5 copay; that physicians are more important than a mid-level healthcare worker; and that our profession is needed, our services are required, and our practice is a calling to be respected, not a trade that is to be negotiated to the lowest bidder.”

A letter posted by Dr. Chudacoff on www.obgyn.net in June has been spreading like wildfire across the Internet, finding its way to personal blogs, discussion groups, and professional forums. On June 23, it was posted to Medscape’s Physician Connect (MPC), a physician-only discussion group, where it sparked a flurry of responses. A number of MPC postings suggest that Dr. Chudacoff will have plenty of company on October 1.

“Finally, something constructive,” says a dermatologist. “I’ll see you in DC on October 1. Some of the office staff, including our nurse, expressed a wish to be there too. Bring spouses and friends and anybody else who actually cares about healthcare in the US.”

“I have cleared my schedule and plan to attend,” responds a vascular surgeon. “I think this type of grassroots action, unaffiliated with hospitals, insurance companies, or the AMA, is likely to get the most sympathetic attention.”

“This is the best proactive effort I have heard from physicians,” says an MPC family medicine physician. “Actions speak louder than words.”

“I can be there without changing my schedule,” adds an anesthesiologist. “I was just terminated from my office-based practice where I have been for 7 years.”

One physician’s decision to take a stand and unite with his fellow colleagues has given doctors a simple way to show the public and elected officials that healthcare, for them, is not a political agenda. It is their life and livelihood. And in recent weeks, the partisan discussions in the Senate and House of Representatives on healthcare legislation have seemingly marginalized — and at times even maligned — physicians.

“I was for nationalized healthcare,” says a family medicine physician, “but I thought that meant providing a safety net for needy Americans. But this monster of a bill is something quite different.”

“Politicians and payers have turned our profession into a political football,” retorts an anesthesiologist.

President Obama’s recent tonsillectomy remark, in which he insinuated that doctors make medical decisions based on what they would be paid for a procedure rather than the best treatment for the patient, has further incensed physicians. “As a hard-working, conscientious physician, I am offended. It’s like racial stereotyping. Only now it’s about a group that is mostly overworked, tired, and saving people’s lives,” retorts a family medicine practitioner.

If the president is looking for greed within the healthcare system, Dr. Chudacoff suggests that he not take aim at primary care physicians. Chudacoff adds, “Medicine is going corporate, and we physicians are just flipping burgers so corporations have an improved bottom line.”

Although fair compensation is an important issue among the organizers of the Million Med March, it is not the only issue. Medicine has become a toxic environment in which to work. Dr. Chudacoff underscores the situation. “Quality of care suffers with less time to see patients and less reimbursement received when we do see patients. We cannot do pro bono work as we have in the past because we have to see an ever increasing number of patients. This extra work is forced upon us when insurance companies, especially Medicare and Medicaid, constantly refuse to pay us in a timely fashion for our time and efforts. And then once we do see patients, our clinical acumen is stifled as we must follow a cookbook approach to patient care. It is time that we stand up for ourselves.”

A vascular surgeon comments, “We can lead the way to real reform. Now is clearly the time to act, not just type.”

On July 10, an MPC contributor and one of the supporters of the Million Med March launched a Website, www.millionmedmarch.com, to build support for the October event. The site announces a physician grassroots movement to re-establish honor, dignity, and worth to the medical profession. “The Million Med March movement has taken off, on so many sites, and within so many communities. Why now? The debate on national healthcare has forced this conversation, and this conversation has pushed us over the tipping point.”

The mandate as stated on the Million Med March Website includes the following points:

•Services must be adequately reimbursed so that we may spend more time with our patients and not be forced to see an unsafe number of patients to pay for increased business costs.
•Less money must go into the hands of insurance companies’ administrative costs, and more money must go towards patient care and medical research.
•We must abolish third-party payers or prevent a single-payer system for office visits and medical services; these services are costly to the patient, physician, and society as a whole.
•Our patients need access to brand-name drugs that are as affordable in the United States as in Canada and Mexico.
•We must have medical malpractice reform, with caps on all damages, so that we can practice without the fear of needless and unwarranted lawsuits that only benefit attorneys.
Some MPC contributors voice concern that the Million Med March scheduled for October will occur too late to have any meaningful impact on healthcare reform. “The health reform bill is going nowhere,” says an anesthesiologist. “Let’s make a major statement between its failure and the next attempt to marginalize the docs.”

A plastic surgeon adds, “Stand up for our profession and come to DC.”

As the Senate Finance Committee moves closer to a final vote on the President’s health care takeover, it could come down to Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-ME).

Senators Maria Cantwell (D-WA) and Jay Rockefeller (D-WV) have pledged to oppose any bill without an explicit public option. If they hold to their pledge, Democrats will need one Republican to move the proposal out of committee.

Olympia Snowe has said she won’t provide that critical vote unless the plan includes a “trigger” for a public option and unless it has been scored by CBO. Democrats might agree to the phony trigger but they’re not likely to wait two weeks for the plan to be scored.

Conservatives need to contact Sen. Snowe NOW and urge her to vote against the plan. Her number is (202) 224-5344.

I Kings 18 documents the account of God’s prophet Elijah challenging the prophets of Ba’al at Mt Carmel. He challenged them to prepare bulls for sacrifice and to call on their god to see if he would consume the sacrifice. Verse 24 says, “And call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the Lord: and the God that answers by fire, let him be God.” And all the people agreed to this. So the Ba’als went first. After the entire day, nothing happened. Then it was Elijah’s turn. He soaked the sacrificial bull with water and called on God from heaven whose fire fell “and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood and the stones and the dust and licked up the water that was in the trench.”

On September 25th, the modern prophets of Ba’al will descend on the Capitol of the world’s largest Christian nation. Their speakers will offer the Islamic prayer of Jummah. Described in Surah 62 of the Koran, part of the prayer says, “O ye that stand on Judaism! If ye think that ye are friends to Allah, to the exclusion of (other) men, then express your desire for Death, if ye are truthful!” The Koran instructs: “And when the prayer is ended, then disperse in the land and seek of Allah’s bounty…” After the prayer, Islamic children will tour the Library of Congress and the Supreme Court, laying symbolic ownership of America’s heritage and future under the theme of “Our Time Has Come.”

The guest speakers, who will deliver the prayer, are experts in Sharia law. Dr. Ahmad Dewidar, an Egyptian born Islamist with ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, is one of two prayer leaders. On June 9, Dewidar was interviewed by Arabic TV where he said, “In 1995, I heard some sermons that said that Muslims should March on the White House from some of the mosques…One cleric said in his sermon: ‘We are going to the White House, so that Islam will be victorious, Allah willing, and the White House will become into the Muslim house.’” The interviewer asked if they would occupy the White House.. Dewidar replied, “No, they say that through the domination of Islam and its ideas, the White House will change.”

Dewidar then offers some instruction on how to bring about that change by appearing reasonable and becoming role models. A lot can be said about how the Muslim Brotherhood’s plan to conduct cultural Jihad on America is being enacted through Dewidar and his prophets. But the point here is that Islam is a political system that uses religion to control people and advance its ideology. It is an enemy to the United States. And it is an enemy to the one true God. Like in the days of Elijah, where one man stood on faith and defeated the prophets of Ba’al, these are the days where men of God must stand for righteousness that as in I Kings 18:39, the people will fall on their faces and say, “The Lord, he is the God.”

Planned Parenthood to Star in Public Schools!

If no attention is put upon this section of the enormous Health Care bill, it is quite possible for the ‘abortion-minded’ Planned Parenthood to be in Public Schools mentoring our children in the sexual endeavors. This would be another abomination that must not be permitted. Write your Representatives and Senators now before it is too late.

The cause for concern over this bill continues to multiply. Now, it appears that a section of the bill that creates federally-funded school-based health clinics may be little more than an opportunity for the nation’s largest abortion provider to gain access to our school children.

Section 2511 of H.R. 3200 would make Planned Parenthood eligible to operate federal-managed health clinics in every public school in America.

Obama is trying to slip a vote through TODAY for Cass Sunstein for the office of Information & Regulatory Affairs. His views are as extreme and radical as the rest of Obama’s czars have been – if you want to do a quick search. His Second Amendment views are terrible! Fairness Doctrine – BAD! Check it out for yourselves. But PLEASE call NOW!

If our schools persist in playing partisan politics and being part of the propaganda machine emanating from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, they need to feel the pain in their pocketbooks. Bay Area Patriots is asking all parents with children in K-12 to boycott school that day. Every day your child stays home from school amounts to a financial loss to the school of about $35 per student per day.

It has become all too clear that Obama’s “Yes We Can” means “Yes We Can Indoctrinate Your Children.”

Just Say “NO YOU CAN’T” to your school and keep your kids home, tell the school why and use this opportunity for a real history or civics lesson at home, visit the [areas of interest in your city/state] i.e. museums, parks, etc., write a letter together to the President explaining why you are against this healthcare reform, discuss with your children the reasons people flock to this country from oppressive, tyrannical regimes or economies that are failing—the possibilities are endless for a stay-at-home-educational-moment.

We know how difficult it is to keep your kids home and make arrangements for day care, but if you can make it work, you can take a stand together with parents from all over California and the country. All too often we feel we have no other choice but to take it when it comes to school matters we find disturbing. This is your chance to stand up for what is right.
